The UFC can’t keep their champions healthy. Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez tore his rotator cuff and will finally defend his title a year after he won it, not to mention the Brock Lesnar health issues before. Featherweight champ Jose Aldo had to pull out of a title defense against Josh Grispi back at 125. And now the new light heavyweight champion’s first defense will be put on hold. ESPN is reporting Jon “Bones” Jones has a torn ligament in his thumb and has pulled out of his title bout with Rashad Evans at UFC 133. Evans will instead get Mr. Wonderful Phil Davis in Philly in what I hope will be a title eliminator. We’ll talk more about this on this week’s edition of the BangCast, which should be technical problem free…I hope.
