So that’s where we stand. We’re really, really close heading into the final event of February this Saturday. UFC 127 is live Saturday night(afternoon) from the Acer Arena in Melbourne, Australia and is headlined by a welterweight title eliminator between BJ Penn and Jon Fitch. We’ll give you more of our analysis in tonight’s BangCast. For now, enjoy Armando’s justification for his picks.
|Spencer Fisher vs. Ross Pearson||Pearson||Fisher||Fisher||How the HELL is Camozzi/Noke on the main card, while Pearson/Fisher and Mark Hunt/Chris Tuchscherer are relegated to the prelims? Ridiculous. Anyway, Pearson wins because I like the way he talks. Those silly Brits and their Queen.|
|Chris Camozzi vs. Kyle Noke||Noke||Noke||Noke||He was on the security team that protected Steve Irwin, and we all know how that went… so hopefully he can do a better job of protecting his 4-fight win streak. So much for not taking the low road.|
|Brian Ebersole vs. Chris Lytle||Lytle||Lytle||Lytle||Condit is outski w/a bum knee, and respectable Aussie and newcomer to the UFC Brian Ebersole is touted as the replacement, but to my knowledge has not been comfirmed. Either way, I’ll take Lytle if the match still happens.|
|Dennis Siver vs. George Sotiropoulos||Sotiropoulos||Sotiropoulos||Sotiropoulos||You know you’re an MMA blogger when you can spell “Sotiropoulos” without looking for a reference.|
|Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera||Bisping||Bisping||Bisping||Rivera has been talking mad shit, and we all know what happens when you talk mad shit before a fight.|
|Jon Fitch vs. BJ Penn||Penn||Fitch||Fitch||Everyone figured when Penn lost the 2nd time to Frankie Edgar that his days in the sun were over. Sure, he’d get some decent wins, but never again would he be back to his old glory. Well Penn showed how he felt about that in the Matt Hughes fight, and I think (and hope) this will be more of the same. Will we see him matched up to lose to GSP again? Probably not, but at least if anyone else has the belt, Penn would be a viable candidate (assuming a win against Fitch of course).|
